It’s soft enough that it won’t damage older gun barrels. Independent testing shows that Vickers hardness of KJ bismuth shot is 16 (Mohs hardness is 2), which is  similar to lead shot and significantly softer than steel shot. Bismuth's density is 9.6g/cc which is just about as dense (and lethal) as lead, and it's non-toxic. KJ bismuth shot is of high polished surface and perfectly round form.
